The Ceramic Art program provides the knowledge and skills necessary for investigating and experimenting with materials, forms, finishes and decoration so as to obtain unique, personal results and carry out ceramics projects.

These studies will involve drafting preliminary projects and models, designing and producing ceramic pieces and artworks with creativity and artistic sensibility, and organizing the creative and productive ceramics process.

Ceramicists may work as freelance professionals or as members of a workshop or company. Activities can include work with artistic ceramics relating to:

  • Producing ceramic art pieces

  • Reproducing valuable pieces for specific concepts or projects

  • Creating accessories for architecture, including reliefs and murals, among other pieces

  • Applying ceramics to Interior Design and Decoration

  • Restoration and conservation of ceramic artworks

  • With a Certificate of Advanced Vocational Training in Fine Arts & Design, graduates can also continue related studies at university. See "Opportunities for Further Study".

With the Advanced Vocational Training Certificate you are eligible for the following university studies:
-Architectural Technician Studies
-Education / Teacher Training (3-year university degree or diplomatura)
-Advanced Fine Arts and Design Studies, with a qualification equivalent to a 3-year university degree or diplomatura (specializations: Fashion Design, Product Design, Interior Design, Graphic Design)
-Undergraduate studies in Fine Arts (Bachelor’s Degree)
-Undergraduate studies in History (Bachelor’s Degree)
-Undergraduate studies in History of Art (Bachelor’s Degree)
-Industrial Design Engineering
-Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Assets (specializations: Graphic Documents, Sculpture, Archeology, Painting)
