How to act of an Emergency during the BIP?

Step 1: Remain Calm and Assess the Situation.
Is crucial to stay calm and avoid panic. This will allow us to think clearly and make better decisions.

Step 2: Request Help.
If it is a medical emergency or an accident, contact emergency services as soon as possible by calling 112 (the emergency number in the European Union). In the case of a theft or assault, you should also call 112.

For a medical emergency, if you are from the European Union, you must carry a valid European Health Insurance Card. If you are from outside the European Union, you must have contracted travel insurance for your stay.

Step 3: Inform the Program Manager – Jordi Guillemí
Contact, as son as possible, the program manager via mail at erasmus@llotja.cat. The responsible person will contact you and manage the situation and provide logistic, emotional and legal support to the student at all times.

Step 4: Document the Emergency and Follow the Authorities’ Instructions.
Make sure to record the details of the incident, including the actions taken, the people involved, and the recommendations received, for insurance purposes and to keep your institution informed.
