How can I apply as an incoming Erasmus student?

PROCEDURE FOR INCOMING STUDENTS

 

EXCHANGE PROGRAM 

ESDA Llotja exchange programs with partner institutes in Europe are channelled through the EU’s ERASMUS higher education program. Students from Partner institutions may apply to study with us for one or two semesters.

The academic year is divided into two periods:

Autumn Semester: From mid-September to end-January.

Spring Semester: From February to end-May.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

Academic requirements: Fine Arts – Design

Language requirements: Classes are taught in Catalan and Spanish. It’s necessary to have a level B1-B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference in Spanish.

WHICH SUBJECTS CAN I CHOOSE? 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Due to a mandatory change of Curriculum imposed by the Ministry of Education during the 2024 to 2026 years, there will be some changes in the study plans. Therefore, the course catalog might not contain accurate information.

Please note that the list of the subjects is offered only with informative purposes, and that the actual subjects and number of ECTS may vary depending on availability, study plan, etc.

PROCEDURES TO REQUEST AN EXCHANGE 

Step 1. Students must be officially nominated by their home institution.

Make sure you attach to the form ALL the following documents:

  1. A letter of motivation with relevant information.
  2. An artistic portfolio with referenced pictures of the student’s work.(in English/Spanish).
  3. A CV in Spanish.

It will be an advantage in the selection process to have a Spanish Certificate.

ADMISSION 

Admission to the ESDA Llotja is validated by the department coordinator, the international office and the Head of studies after examination.

Admission depends on your application and depending on available places. Partnership between Home and Guest University does not guarantee admission. If there is a great deal of demand for a single course or workshop, the Llotja will proceed to make a selection and those not admitted to said course or workshop will be offered related alternatives.

You will receive an answer by e-mail. Start dates of workshops or courses will be indicated clearly, along with the documentation students will need to bring with them.

FEES 

Students accepted as part of an exchange program are not required to pay registration fees, but in some workshops, you will need to pay for the material.

ECTS SYSTEM 

You should not take more than 30 ECTS per semester.

In certain cases where the teaching programs of the establishment of origin do not correspond exactly to those provided by the ESDA Llotja, the teachers are allowed a certain flexibility in their attribution of ECTS credits on condition that the student has responded to the teaching contract that was initially co-signed.

At the end of the semester, exchange students receive a certificate of attendance and a transcript of grades corresponding to each teaching unit.

INSURANCE 

Once accepted, upon their arrival at the ESDA Llotja students must provide:

– A medical insurance. Citizens of EU members should ask in their respective countries for the European Health Card. A private medical insurance is required if the student cannot receive this card.

– Additionally, it is recommended to have a liability insurance and an accident insurance to cover the injuries that may occur, especially in the case in  which you are the victim of an accident.

ACCOMODATION 

The ESDA Llotja does not have accommodations available for students. The most common channels to find accommodation are:

STUDENT CARD 

You will receive your student ID card when you start studying at the EASD Llotja.  When your enrolment has been fully completed and all obligations met, your will be issued a student ID card. This card will serve as your official identification for EASD Llotja during your entire study period with us.

The student card also serves as a library card.
